Finding a Detox Program: Rapid Detox..

Rapid Detox follows a four-stage procedure that covers the full period between pre-detox medical consultations and complete recovery to ensure that patients get the care and support they need. After a trained psychotherapist evaluates a prospective patient, the patient is seen by a Doctor and given a complete medical screening, including EKG, chest x-ray, blood work and liver function tests. On the day of the detoxification a board certified physician will evaluate the patient.

The Doctor then performs the rapid detoxification procedure by sedating the patient with general anesthesia and administering the opiate antagonist to sweep the brain clean of narcotics and fill the brain receptors with narcotic antagonists in an hour. During the detoxification, the patient is comfortably asleep, experiencing no withdrawal symptoms.

After the procedure, registered nurses who are specially trained in Rapid Detox procedure monitor the patient. The patient awakes from sedation after total physical detoxification is achieved.

The morning following the procedure the Doctor assesses each patient, designs a customized maintenance treatment regiment and recovery program, before he discharges the patient. In the week following the procedure, a registered nurse will monitor the patient through phone calls. The patient will also have a treatment plan of action to follow upon detox procedure completion.
